| | October 29, 2009 | Qtask embodies the philosophy that one can find amazing, passionate talent when you remove the constraints of location and job description, which is reflected in the latest additions to the Qtask team:
Michael Cummings has signed on to lend his talents to maintaining Qtask's website. He runs FireHive, a media and web design consultancy, as well as Dream In Pictures, a full-service photography business that, among other things, shoots tech-related events such as product release parties and SXSW.
"Michael blends his business acumen with knowledge of programming and project management to get things done," said Baron RK Von Wolfsheild, Chief Architect, CTO and co-founder of Qtask. "He has his finger on the pulse of the collaboration movement and how it is evolving the way we will work in future."
Cummings has also been very active in community-building and event organization, having been involved in BarCamp Texas, DesignCamp, the BIL Conference and The Creative Space, the first coworking space in the Bryan, Texas. He is currently using that experience, along with his passion for travel, photography, marketing and social media to help in the development of Coworking Lima in Peru.
Cummings holds a BA Management Information Systems, as well as an MS in MIS from the Texas A&M Mays Business School.
In his role as MIS Assistant, Joshua Estrada makes sure Qtask is finely tuned; something that comes quite naturally to him in his other role as a professional violinist. Estrada is no stranger to the Qtask team; having worked several stints in Customer Support at Qtask's sister company Prolific Publishing over the past six years.
Estrada's interest in digital recording led him to explore IT and technology systems. That self-teaching, paired with his experience at Prolific, provided him with the tools to help the Qtask MIS team as they work to make the Qtask platform compatible with both existing and emerging systems.
"Josh is smart, motivated and detail-oriented," said Von Wolfsheild. "He has always been an asset to the Prolific team and his talents will make him a valuable member of the Qtask team as well."
When not working for Qtask or supporting Prolific, Estrada is active doing freelance performance work and orchestral gigs in the Los Angeles area. He also enjoys recording and exploring his music, and being active in the great outdoors. Estrada studied at the New England Conservatory of Music and is currently a member of San Bernardino Symphony and the Redlands Symphony, in addition to numerous other performing groups.

| | September 2, 2009 | Qtask is happy to announce they have recently entered into a partnership with Project Management Institute – Orange County (California) Chapter. PMI-OC is a mature chapter of PMI, having begun its charter in 1989 and boasting more than 1,650 members. The mission of this nation-wide volunteer, non-profit organization is to help those in the project management field network and grow professionally, while spreading the benefits of project management to a diverse range of industries.
Qtask will be providing PMI-OC with 100 seats to the Qtask platform, which PMI-OC will use for its Board of Directors and its volunteers involved in chapter communications and outreach, and the planning of their numerous events throughout the year. Additionally, PMI-OC will provide seats to select individuals from other PMI chapters to aid in collaboration and communications across chapters.
"We have just started training our volunteers and the feedback has been positive," said Nora Goto, head of Operations for PMI-OC. "They recognize the potential it brings to the PMI-OC organization and the diversity of collaboration options for our projects."
In exchange, Qtask will be invited to have a table at each of PMI-OC’s monthly chapter dinners, held the second Tuesday of each month, in order to help spread awareness for the Qtask platform among project management professionals. Qtask will also receive advertising in PMI-OC’s monthly Milestones Magazine and on the PMI-OC website.
"PMI is a great organization that shares Qtask’s drive for better project management, collaboration and communication in business and organizations," said Gabriel Blanc-Laine, Qtask VP of Sales and Marketing. "Its members include many of the brightest, most innovative project management professionals in the field. We look forward to the opportunity to share Qtask with them."
"Qtask thinks beyond what people term ‘traditional’ project management, adding transparency and accountability, yet making it easy enough to adopt across an entire organization," said Lori Schapiro, who handles Marketing for PMI-OC. Like PMI, Qtask sees the value of project management fundamentals to any business, group or organization. We look forward to helping them spread the word.
The next scheduled PMI-OC event is its 20th Anniversary Gala and Career Fair, scheduled for September 10, 2009, where keynote speaker Vince Lombardi Jr. will speak on the topic of "High Performance People: What They Do and How They Do It".
More information about PMI-OC can be found on their website, www.pmi-oc.org.
Qtask Gets Technical
This month Qtask welcomes Kendall Robinson, who joins the team as a Technical Writer to work on the Qtask Manual. However, Kendall much prefers the title of "Technical Communicator", as his work crosses over into all forms of communications – visual, written, online help, wikis – in addition to important work on the Qtask manuals and tutorials.
Robinson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Writing. His previous experience includes work as a tech writer for a "Human Factors Engineering" company that specialized in usability testing.
"It was both quite humbling and enlightening watching people try - and sometimes fail, at actually using material that I’d had written," said Robinson.
"Qtask is always striving to help its customers get the most out of Qtask, while communicating as clearly and simply as possible," said Gabriel Blanc-Laine, Qtask VP of Sales and Marketing. "We welcome Kendall’s talents and expertise in helping us achieve the best documentation possible."
When not working or spending time with his family, Robinson can usually be found on his bicycle – a passion he shares with many of the Qtask team.
Qtask in the Community – Girls on the Run
Qtask software tester and biomedical/anti-aging researcher Lindsey Sherman finished her first marathon in July while raising money for a great cause. Girls on the Run® is a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. Its curricula address all aspects of girls' development - their physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual well-being.
Sherman first became involved with Girls on the Run back in January of this year, when she wanted to volunteer as a GOTR coach--delivering lesson plans. However, it was already late into the season, and all the coaching positions were filled, but that didn’t deter Sherman. She decided to train for and run her first marathon, and took the training process as an opportunity to raise funds for Girls on the Run through their SoleMates Adult Charity running program. She also signed on to be a running buddy, training with a local 3rd grader in the program and cheering her on to finish a 5k event.
There are currently more than 150 Girls on the Run and Girls on Track programs across the nation, which hold more than 70 5K events each year.
Sherman selected the San Francisco Marathon, held July 26th, as her event and committed to raise $262 -- $10 for each mile of the race. Joining more than 20,000 runners from around the globe competing in five different race events, Sherman completed the marathon and, through the support of friends and co-workers, raised $419 for the cause.

| | July 17, 2009 | Qtask's Baron Reichart Von Wolfsheild shared his thoughts on the future of ideas, creativity, and education at several forums in June.
MindShare Los Angeles
Baron Reichart K. Von Wolfsheild, Chief Architect, CTO and co-founder of Qtask, attended the June Mindshare Los Angeles event. Held on the third Thursday of each month, Mindshare events attract an estimated 300 attendees from diverse backgrounds for an evening of inspiration and interaction in downtown Los Angeles.
Created as a platform for networking and the sharing of ideas across a range of fields, Mindshare is an evening of presentations, food, drink, art, music and conversation with other energized people in a cool setting. Each gathering consists of a few 10-minute talks and performances from a variety of disciplines, as well as a showcase of new installations and games for attendees to experience and interact with, created by the great brains at Mindshare Labs.
The June 18th gathering featured presentations from Jessica Jackley, founder of KIVA; aviator and risk analyst Geoffrey Sommer; composer Ariel Blumenthal; Dr. Alex Benzer, author of Tao of Dating for Women and Tao of Dating for Men; and animator Jason Porath.
Founded in 2006 by alumni of Art Center, RISD, Caltech, Claremont, and Stanford, Mindshare works to foster a sense of community within Los Angeles.
"Mindshare grew organically from a core group of extremely sharp and future minded people that recognize we need to approach social and business interactions in a new way," says Von Wolfsheild.
Qtask Co-founder Talks About a New Way of Thinking
Baron Reichart K. Von Wolfsheild, Chief Software Architect and co-founder of Qtask, was the invited guest – along with fellow futurists, Natasha Vita-More and Alvis Brigis, to appear on BlogTalkRadio’s FastForward Radio. The topic of the show, hosted by The Speculist and entitled "Imagination, Creativity, and a World Transformed", was to discuss the need for a new kind of thinking in the face of accelerating change. Together they talked about the role that education, imagination, and creativity have to play in coming to grips with a world in a state of transformation.

Qtask Speaks to Future Business Leaders of America
Qtask's Chief Architect, CTO and co-founder, Baron Reichart Von Wolfsheild, recently had the opportunity to speak at the Future Business Leaders of America - Phi Beta Lambda's Institute for Leaders which is presented by TRI Leadership. Held in conjunction with the National Leadership Conference, this high-energy, intensive, two-day seminar is a focused-leadership experience for state and local chapter officers, as well as members and advisers. The training program is designed for FBLA-PBL's top one percent of members with specialized leadership majors concentrating on Entrepreneurship, Technology, Finance, Business Leadership, and Officer Leadership.
Top industry leaders are invited to speak to students at this annual conference, where Von Wolfsheild was asked to speak on the topic of "Hip and High Tech." Von Wolfsheild spoke to the next generation of knowledge workers about the role of social networking and collaborative software on future business. He discussed the trend in online collaboration tools in the business world, especially as we become more of a global economy, and how public and private systems differ. In discussing how this trend of social media and being connected to the internet 24/7 has affected businesses and how they're adapting, Von Wolfsheild illustrated how, historically you knew only those you could see around you, but with today's visualization and social tools, it's now possible to know a lot about those outside your office. And, in turn, they might know more about you than you want them to know -- stressing the importance of common sense and good business practices.
"Qtask is on the cutting edge of how successful businesses of today are evolving, through virtualization and collaboration," said Christopher Tuason, State Adviser, Future Business Leaders of America - Phi Beta Lambda, California Collegiate Division. "Reichart does an excellent job of demonstrating how the sharing of new ideas and thinking outside traditional work processes can lead to better productivity and innovation."
The Future Business Leaders of America - Phi Beta Lambda is the world’s largest and oldest non-profit student business organization. The California Chapter has an estimated 5,000 members. They hold numerous activities throughout the year such as conferences, charitable fund-raising, recruiting, skill training and competitive events. Experts from a wide range of fields volunteer to share their insight and experiences with its members to help them prepare for careers in business.
"The Future Business Leaders is a great organization that helps students network and get a jump on their careers," said Von Wolfsheild. "It's vital to engage them in how business and business practices are changing, as they represent the executives of the future."

| | July 7, 2009 | One of the benefits of Qtask's 'virtual office' is being able to hire the best and the brightest anywhere, so it’s always rewarding when the industry recognizes the expertise of one of Qtask's own. Dutch Qtasker, Maarten Koopmans from Amsterdam, has worked on "cloudifying" Qtask's File share service to Amazon S3 (Amazon's online web storage service). Recognizing his expertise in this area, he was invited to speak at a private conference of the Norwegian research network Uninett recently.
The role of Uninett, a Norwegian government-owned company responsible for deploying and maintaining a national research-based computer network, is similar to that of Internet2 in the U.S. -- providing state-of-the-art networking for academics and research.
In his talk "Walking the clouds, a Practical Perspective," Koopmans explained various aspects of utility computing. Ranging from cost models, application models and opportunities for projects and businesses, to an overview of error correction techniques in the Amazon cloud, his talk provided a broad introduction to the topic. This cutting-edge knowledge originates in part from Qtask, where all customer data on the fileshare is being backed up to Amazon S3 in both the U.S. and EU locations, providing secondary and tertiary back-ups. Using a sophisticated parallel design, maximum performance and data integrity is ensured for all Qtask customers.
"The fact that one of our full-time team members is recognized in the international arena by one of the world's leading research networks demonstrates Qtask’s strength in both emerging technologies and its team members, translating directly to superior services and higher data protection for our customers," said Russell Mix, Qtask CEO.
Koopmans holds an MSc in computational physics and has worked for the Dutch research network SURFnet, and the Dutch governmental organization ICTU in various roles, from architect to project manager. He has been responsible for the first four releases of A-Select, the identity management middleware that originated at SURFnet, and which underlies the governmental identity management federation, DigiD (which is used by 7 million users yearly).
Koopmans is also known as speaker on various conferences, ranging from TNC, NORDUnet, OASIS, and the Dutch version of Linuxworld. Since joining Qtask in 2008, he has worked on optimizing search and making sure Qtask has a state-of-the-art back end that utilizes the utility computing provided by companies like Amazon.

Gartner Portals, Content & Collaboration Summit
Qtask executives Russell Mix and Gabriel Blanc-Laine, and Regional Sales Manager Keith DeMonbreun headed to Orlando, Florida earlier this month to attend the Gartner Portals, Content and Collaboration (PCC) Summit.
This productivity-minded Summit featured more than 40 in-depth sessions focused on exploring new and better ways to deliver resources, streamline content delivery and storage, and bring people together for great efficiency. Topics ranged from best practices and best uses for Web 2.0, SaaS, and Cloud Computing to lower costs and increase efficiencies in today's businesses. Qtask sponsored a booth at the event, which was held June 8-10 at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes, and demonstrated the Qtask platform to the Summit's audience of analysts and IT professionals.
"The feedback we received from those who saw Qtask was really encouraging, especially in terms of Qtask's Accountability features," said Qtask VP of Sales and Marketing, Gabriel Blanc-Laine." Such response is affirmation that we are on the right track, with regard to our positioning and services, as to what businesses need today to succeed."
Qtask Visits SNEC-PMI
Qtask Regional Sales Manager, Phil Barry, attended the Southern New England Chapter of the Project Management Institute's recent chapter meeting, held June 17th at the Four Points by Sheraton in Meriden, Connecticut. The meeting featured an educational session on using LinkedIn, presented by Mike Forbes, Managing Director of the Connecticut Market for Apex Systems. The evening's main presentation, given by PMP and Senior Consultant Doug Williams, was entitled,"Failed Project Recovery: From the Emergency Room into the Recovery Room"
SNEC-PMI covers all of Connecticut, Western Massachusetts and part of New York. Established in 1983, SNEC-PMI is 1,600 members strong, with nearly 50 percent of its members achieving PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
Enterprise 2.0 2009
Qtask's CEO, Russell Mix and Regional Sales Manager, Phil Barry spent a week in Boston at TechWeb's Enterprise 2.0 2009 Conference and Expo. The theme of this year's conference was "Connect. Collaborate. Transform Your Business." – which could also be the tagline for Qtask.
Held at the Westin Boston Waterfront, the Enterprise 2.0 2009 Conference and Expo spanned four days, June 22-June 25, and was focused on social tools and technologies that help make companies more creative, agile and productive. Through a series of keynotes, panels, breakout sessions and workshops, Executives, Managers and IT professionals gathered to discuss topics such as building social software people will adopt; security, privacy and ownership in the cloud; and – most importantly, to get a reality check on what's working, what's not and what's next.
Qtask joined more than 40 other companies exhibiting the latest Web 2.0, SaaS and Cloud Computing tools in the Enterprise 2.0 Expo Pavilion, where they were able to meet with and demonstrate Qtask to a wide array of analysts, journalists, bloggers and attendees.
"Enterprise 2.0 was very focused on the latest 2.0 tools and services, so the audience was really engaged in learning more about Qtask," said Russell Mix, Qtask CEO."It was a great opportunity to meet with businesses of all sizes and how Qtask excels at helping them become more flexible and productive while cutting costs."
NAWBO Conference 2009
Qtask VP of Sales and Marketing, Gabriel Blanc-Laine, and Regional Sales Manager, Marvin Capel headed to the"Windy City" to attend the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Chicago 2009 Conference "Power Your Dreams". Held June 24th through June 26th at Chicago's Sheraton Hotel and Towers, the conference brought together executives from many of America's 10.1 million women-owned businesses.
The conference is designed as a platform to network and discuss issues currently facing women-owned businesses, and businesses in general. This year's"Power Your Dreams" featured a keynote address from Marilyn Johnson, VP of Market Development at IMB, as well as a series of speakers, panels and workshops covering topics such as best practices, social networking, environmental sustainability and global entrepreneurship.
Second Generation Qtasker
Qtask's Marketing Department has a little something extra this Summer, thanks to Justine Blanc-Laine. Daughter of Qtask's own VP of Sales and Marketing, Justine is learning the inner workings of a global start-up business as an intern, experience that should prove valuable as she pursues her studies in Business and Spanish.
Currently a second-year student at the College of Canyons in Santa Clarita, California, Blanc-Laine is responsible for a range of tasks from Qtask's directory listings and Resource Center, to work on its Education program and peer reviews. When not working for Qtask, she can often be found pursuing her passion of horseback riding.
"I'm hoping to transfer to Business School at some point, so my experiences at Qtask will be valuable for providing insight into how a company works both globally and more efficiently," said Blanc-Laine. | About Qtask

Qtask Quality Assurance Continues Growth
The Quality Assurance team at Qtask continues to grow in order keep Qtask flexible and improving. And, in keeping with the Qtask culture, management seeks to hire the best and brightest. Two new Qtaskers who fit that description are Jay O'Balles and Lindsey Sherman, both of whom are working on post-graduate degrees.
Jay O'Balles joins Qtask from Movielink, a subsidiary of Blockbuster, where he worked on the "10-foot" user experience. Prior to Movielink, he tested video games for Mattel, Inc., and worked for the online music service, Napster.
O'Balles graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Anthropology and is currently enrolled in the MBA Program at CSULA. When not working for Qtask or pursuing his MBA, O'Balles competes in triathlons, practices Tai Chi and zips around on his beloved Yamaha Virago 250.
Lindsey Sherman has joined Qtask from the Biodesign Institute, where she worked as a research assistant, and was responsible for planning, organizing and carrying out experimental procedures, measuring data, and researching anti-aging on behalf of The Methuselah Foundation.
Sherman holds a B.S. in Psychology from Arizona State. She recently completed coursework in Bioengineering and served as the President of the Life-Extension Club at AS.
Based in Tempe, Arizona, where she lives with her husband, Sherman also volunteers for the Alcor Life-Extension Foundation and conducts research on a volunteer basis for the Institute for Biomedical Gerontology – also created and funded by The Methuselah Fund. She has traveled extensively, speaks German and Spanish, and is currently training for the San Francisco Marathon.
"Jay and Lindsey each have stellar, diverse work experience that will add a great deal to our Quality Assurance team," said Baron Reichart K. Von Wolfsheild, Chief Architect, CTO and co-founder of Qtask. "Their athletic hobbies and educational pursuits are also a perfect fit with the active, curious culture we have built here at Qtask."

| | May 4, 2009 | Qtask will explore the value of social networks in business in a complimentary webinar, "Social Networks: Right for Your Business" provided by author, consultant and collaboration expert David Coleman. This special event will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM PDT.
The way we communicate and collaborate is rapidly changing thanks to globalization and new SaaS-based virtual offices like Qtask. With Facebook and Twitter all over the news, businesses are jumping on the bandwagon. But should social networks be part of your office, or is it just noise?
In this webinar, Coleman will look at how collaboration has evolved in the workplace; how Web 2.0 technologies are impacting the way we do business; explain the difference between a social network and an online community; cover how different generations handle collaboration; and talk about some of the ‘social' technologies being used in enterprise today. He will also share results of a recent study on the topic of Social Networks in Enterprise, conducted by his firm Collaborative Strategies.
"Qtask was created for and because of collaboration in the workplace; it's at our core," said Gabriel Blanc-Laine, Qtask VP of Sales & Marketing. "So we are extremely pleased to host this webinar event with collaboration expert, David Coleman."
To reserve your spot for the seminar, please click here. Questions can be submitted before, during or following the webinar via email or Twitter.
David Coleman, Founder and Managing Director of Collaborative Strategies has been involved with groupware, collaborative technologies, knowledge management (KM), online communities, and social networks since 1989. He is a thought leader, frequent public speaker, industry analyst, and author of books and magazine articles on these topics.

| | April 13, 2009 | Qtask Sees Success at Web2.0 Expo SF
In its first national tradeshow since its public launch at DEMOFall '08, Qtask had a very successful showing at last month's Web 2.0 Expo SF. Held at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco from March 31st through April 4th, more than 8400 attendees came to learn about the latest Web 2.0 tools, software and services.
Qtask unveiled a new booth (note: hyperlink to booth pics here) featuring two large touch screens demonstrating Qtask, including the new email integration, tasks on calendars and report features. The large screens proved to be invaluable, as the booth was often packed four or five people deep at each demo station.
In addition to exhibiting, Russell Mix, Qtask's CEO, gave a talk on why Transparency & Accountability should be embraced, and how to achieve them within your company and projects.
Qtask's VP of Sales & Marketing, Gabriel Blanc-Laine, Product Manager Todd Horsman, and Regional Sales Manager, Sanjeev Thakkar, were also on-hand to provide demos and answer questions – sometimes even in French, thanks to Gabriel – for the constant stream of people who stopped by the booth.
It was rewarding to see the diversity of audience who said Qtask looked like the right solution for their business or group. Qtask talked to people representing design firms, business schools, software start-ups, recruiting companies, and even the government. Repeatedly people came to the booth to tell us that Qtask was the most impressive application at the show.
Such positive feedback has encouraged Qtask to bolster its show schedule in the coming months, so watch for us at a tradeshow or conference near you.
New Qtask Website
You may have noticed that something has changed at Qtask. The Company unveiled a whole new website at the end of March, a change intended to make it easier to see how using Qtask can help you reduce costs and be more productive.
The website revamp is in part a response to listening to so many current and potential Qtask customers and hearing what problems and features are most critical for them. The new Qtask website features even more resources such as tips, articles and videos, as well as new feature highlights, product comparisons and customer testimonials. With more than 90 individual pages, the website project was quite an undertaking that required the participation of several teams within Qtask, as well as writing contractors and an outside design firm. But, using Qtask to manage this project, communicate and collaborate, it was completed effectively and launched in time for the Web 2.0 Expo SF.
Qtask Expands Quality Assurance
In an effort to stay ahead of all of the exciting things going on at Qtask, it has further expanded its Quality Assurance team.
Jim Lippard brings years of IT experience to Qtask, where he will be working on testing many of the new features in development. Prior to joining Qtask, Lippard was Director of Information Security at Global Crossing.
Lippard holds a master's degree in philosophy with a minor in cognitive science from the University of Arizona, a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Arizona State University, and has been admitted as a Ph.D. student to Arizona State University's new interdisciplinary program in Human and Social Dimensions of Science and Technology for the Fall of 2009.
When not working at Qtask, Lippard keeps busy with an array of hobbies related to his Ph.D. pursuits such as investigating why people believe strange things – from pseudoscience to conspiracy theories to urban legends. He has published several articles and book chapters on psychic detectives, creationism, handwriting analysis, fire-walking, and related topics. Residing in Phoenix, Lippard and his wife regularly volunteer for Arizona RESCUE, a dog and cat rescue organization that socializes the animals and observes their behavior in order to find the best fit for a new home for them.
"Jim is a smart individual who has had many successes in his career," said Baron Reichart K. Von Wolfsheild, Chief Architect, CTO and co-founder of Qtask. "We are pleased that he has elected to join Qtask while working toward his Ph.D., as his extensive experience and education are sure to be assets to the team."

Qtask Continues Growth
Job losses and cutbacks may be the news of the day at many businesses, but Qtask continues to illustrate how working efficiently and reducing overhead costs enables a company to invest in great talent. Three such talented individuals joined the Qtask team in February.
Josh Estrada is no stranger to Qtask, as he spent the last six years handling Customer Support for the SereneScreen product line from Prolific Software, the software development company from which Qtask was initially created. Estrada has joined Qtask as an MIS Assistant, where he will aid the company’s IT department in keeping things running smoothly. When not helping out his fellow Qtask-ers, Estrada demonstrates another of his talents by making beautiful music with his violin in two professional symphonies across the Southern California area.
"Josh has been doing a great job leading customer service for us on the Prolific Software side and, as such, has been using Qtask since early on in its development," said Baron Reichart K. Von Wolfsheild, Chief Architect, CTO and co-founder of Qtask. "His extensive knowledge of the Qtask environment and the company will be a major asset in his new MIS role."
The other two additions are to the Qtask Quality Assurance team. The first of these is April Brown, who joins the company with previous experience that includes developing the first web site for the J. Paul Getty Museum. Brown has also worked for TSW where she was part of the team responsible for the company’s project management software. In her spare time, she enjoys running marathons and spending time with her two sons.
"April has a strong background in web development and project management," commented Von Wolfsheild. "Both are integral to Qtask and we look forward to seeing what she can do when combing the two, as is the case with our environment."
In addition to Brown, Qtask welcomed Frances Morales. Morales brings extensive QA planning and management experience to the company, having spent more than ten years helping to launch desktop and web applications for several notable companies including MySpace, Network Associates and Microsoft. When not squashing software bugs, she is busy with her hobbies that include photography and training horses in Classical Dressage.
"We are pleased that someone with credentials and web application-specific experience such as Frances is working with Qtask," said Von Wolfsheild. "She brings a great deal of management and planning expertise to the Quality Assurance team, which will help us all deliver the best experience to our customers."
Qtask Launches Blog
February also marked the launch of the official Qtask Blog. The blog is written for Qtask customers, potential customers, journalists and the Qtask team itself. The blog is written by various team members within Qtask, ranging from the CEO, CTO, VP of Sales and Marketing, the Qtask Product Manager and more. Subjects that will be covered include topics such as small business tools, collaboration, and the virtual office.
The blog, which is updated every week, can be found at: http://www.qtask.com/public/blog/

Qtask attendees included CEO Russell Mix, Product Manager Todd Horsman and Regional Sales Manager Keith DeMonbreun. The Qtask team was pleased to meet key panelists, nearly all of the presenting companies, and a great many of the 700 attendees, gaining great insight into technology advances, focal points of the investment community, and the critical thoughts of the top financial and technology players in the market today.

| | February 5, 2009 | Qtask, creator of the SaaS product by the same name, has implemented several initiatives aimed at creating a better world, both inside the company and out. Leveraging its international reach and virtual collaboration environment, Qtask speaks to the 21st century and the conceptual age by embracing steps that bypass the basics, and take the humanity of its employees and their worlds into full account.
"Make the World a Better Place" Day
After learning of one employee's intervention on behalf of an incapacitated skateboarder in sub-zero temps, Qtask decided to make it official: each and every Qtask team member would have the benefit of time and resources to better someone's world. In practice, this translates into an additional personal day per year, during which the employee is free to take the kids to soccer or plant trees in the municipal park (Russell Mix, CEO and co-founder, spent his day picking up trash along his preferred bike path), and $100 per person for the charity of that person's choice. Acting locally, after all, has myriad interpretations.
"The Bike Ride"
Every Tuesday and Thursday, Qtask's top management go for a bike ride from 8-10 AM, along the bike path on the LA river, in and around Griffith Park and the LA Zoo, or in the Verdugo Hillsides in Burbank. All employees are invited to join this venture into the real world of quality health and social bonding time!
"What scares you?"
Twice a year, Qtask hosts a summit, for which employees from all over fly into Burbank to spend a few days chewing on Qtask's past, present and future plans. Presentations are made, discussions are had, ideas are exchanged, and much food, drink and laughter are consumed. On the last day, several hours are set aside for an open forum for group think known as "What Scares You?". During this time, all team members are invited to voice concerns and questions, or air any outstanding conundrums, which may be answered, advised or resolved by any member of the Qtask team. An HR person may resolve a sales problem, a freelance contractor may advise on a personnel problem, or the head of sales may offer insight into a UI design dilemma. We call these moments "group resolution".
Total Transparency
These days, knowledge about what's happening behind the scenes has taken on increasing importance for each and every one of us, on so many levels. In the case of Qtask, not only does our software enable full accountability - we hold ourselves to that same standard. So when our employees want to know our daily burn rate, we tell them. When they want to know about personnel, we tell them. When they want to know what deals are on the table, we tell them. Our financials are regularly, proactively, published to our shareholders, and, well, since most of our shareholders are team members and most of our team members shareholders. everyone is in the know. We at Qtask believe that open structure does not just apply to code.

| | January 12, 2009 | The Qtask team continued to grow in January, adding three talented team members to help achieve the goals laid out for 2009, and launching its monthly newsletter.
The first of these new team members is Samantha Scully, who has joined Qtask as Training Specialist. Qtask first encountered Ms. Scully at the Digital Family Reunion Holiday Party '08, which took place at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles in December.
She brings more than 20 years of Instructional Design and Learning Strategies to Qtask. Scully training expertise spans e-learning and web training, as well as providing instruction in several multimedia, Human Resources and Systems Admin and EPIC software platforms for high profile clients. She holds a B.A. in Business Administration and is a member of The eLearning Guild, PMI – LA, The Training Associates and WITI.
"Samantha is a great addition to Qtask, as she has such a deep background in both training and web-based services," said Russell Mix, Qtask CEO. "She instantly hit it off with the team when we met at the Digital Family Reunion, and we are confident she will provide valuable insight into customer usability, and be crucial in getting Qtask customers up to speed quickly."
Also joining Qtask is Steven Ewing, who will be handling Engineering responsibilities on Qtask's WYSIWYG capabilities. With a focus on areas such as Javascript, PHP, ASP and MySQL, Ewing first turned his interest in computers into a career through a series of contract projects for several large companies. Most recently, he served as head programmer and project manager at the Australian-based development company, Webhead. Ewing earned his Certificate 4 from Mt. Druitt Tafe College, located near Sydney.
"In addition to programming, Steve has done a great deal of graphic design and user interface work, said Baron Reichart K. Von Wolfsheild, Chief Architect, CTO and co-founder of Qtask. "His efforts on the WYSIWYG capabilities of Qtask will greatly enhance the intuitive nature of Qtask, making it easier for users across a wider range of roles and disciplines."
January also marked the inaugural issue of Qtask's monthly newsletter, created for current and prospective Qtask users. Each issue will highlight new features, helpful tips and ways to use Qtask, real-world stories from Qtask users and staff, and other Qtask news.
The Qtask newsletter is spearheaded by the third new member of Qtask, Dara Schlissel. Schlissel is a content specialist who brings her 15 years of interactive entertainment and content development experience to the Qtask Marketing team. Having recently returned to the US following an eight-year stint in Paris, she has developed strategies and content for companies such as Young & Rubicam, the International Herald Tribune, and BNP Paribas. Before moving to France, Schlissel was Director of Production for the ESPN/Disney Internet Group brand espn.com. Other notable projects include the development and production of the multiple award-winning "The Prince of Egypt" website and TBS’s "Cartoon Network World" virtual-world prototype. She holds a B.A. in English from Pitzer College and completed the professional screenwriting program at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Métiers de l'Image et du Son in Paris.
"We are very excited about the newsletter, as it provides us a forum to better communicate with both our customers and prospects, and a place to illustrate how we can contribute to solving a large variety of very common issues in Project Management and Collaboration," said Gabriel Blanc-Laine, Qtask's VP of Sales & Marketing. "Dara has an important role in helping us find our voice and the best way to tell Qtask’s story."

| | December 30, 2008 | December was a festive but productive month for Qtask in which we met many new people and came together to brainstorm and review Qtask's progress, challenges, goals and our plans for 2009.
Nearly 40 Qtask team members from around the world and across disciplines descended on our corporate headquarters in Burbank, California in early December for the Qtask Summit. As much as Qtask promotes and enables remote collaboration, we always look forward to the opportunity to get together in the same room to discuss challenges and solutions face-to-face.
Representatives from Qtask's sales, development, marketing and executive teams spent four days talking about where we've been and where we're headed in 2009 and beyond. Highlights included a marketing break-out session, group dinners and a "fancy pants" contest.
"The Summit is important because it not only strengthens the relationships across teams, such as those between Sales and Development, but also provides a forum for individuals to provide solutions from a cross-section of disciplines, said Russell Mix, Qtask CEO. "This open discussion results in a fresh perspective, and illustrates the importance of every individual in a team."
Speaking of meeting new people, Qtask added a new member to the team in November. Chuong Nguyen joins Qtask as a Project Manager. When not working for Qtask, he is a Doctoral candidate and Teaching Assistant at UCLA specializing in the area of Web Information Systems. Nguyen has previously worked as a Project Manager for Microsoft on its Exchange Server Version 12, as well as a Software Engineer for PriceGrabber.com. He holds a BA and MS in Computer Science from UCLA.
"Chuong's strong, focused background in Web-based information systems is a perfect fit for Qtask, said Baron Reichart K. Von Wolfsheild, Chief Software Architect, CTO and co-founder of Qtask. "The rapid growth and evolution of Web-based tools make it essential to keep up with the latest and greatest technologies, and he will play a vital role in helping Qtask stay on the cutting edge of that trend."
Qtask also had the opportunity to meet new people as the sponsor of the Product Management Institute of Orange County's Year-End Dinner, held December 9th at the Wyndam Orange County in Costa Mesa, California. In addition to giving several one-on-one demonstrations of Qtask to the dinner's estimated 200 attendees, Gabriel Blanc Laine, VP Sales & Marketing, preceded the keynote with a presentation outlining the benefits of Transparency and Accountability in Project Management and Collaboration 2.0. The keynote speaker was Mike Saunders, a Project Manager for Southern California Edison and PMP, who gave an insightful talk on Advanced Multitasking.

| | December 15, 2008 | November has been a busy month for Qtask, as company CEO Russell Mix was invited to speak at two prominent conferences focused on innovation in business technology.
First up was The ITEC Atlanta 2008 Conference, which took place November 12 - 13. Designed to explore how cutting-edge technologies can help businesses be more productive and improve their bottom line, the conference brought together technology experts, industry leaders and business tech media to discuss challenges facing today's businesses and the latest IT solutions.
Russell gave a presentation entitled Faster Business Solutions with Web 2.0 Collaboration as part of the Next Workplace track, a series of keynotes and talks focused on the trend toward efficiencies such as flexible staffing, remote and online collaboration and social media applications for the workplace. Other presenters included James Gaskin, noted business technology columnist and author of Network World's Small Business Technology newsletter; as well as Tino Mantella, president of the Technology Association of Georgia.
Russell was also one of several distinguished industry experts who made up the panel for the recent discussion on Profitable and Sustainable Business Models for Software Companies, hosted by BizTech Connections, which took place at TechSpace in Aliso Viejo, California on November 19.
The discussion was centered on the idea that, while many companies may understand how to create a software product or service, they still face the challenge of building a profitable and sustainable business model for long-term growth and success. Moderated by Bob Newkirk, Profitable Growth Architect at C-Level Management, Inc., the panel also included Chip F. Parker, founder and managing director of InLab Ventures, and Paul Ulyett, COO of Kyliptix Solutions.

Unlike similar project management products, Qtask makes it possible for you to get work done faster since you no longer have to wait for the web browser to catch up with your speed. Navigating through Qtask is now a breeze, making it easy for you to work smarter, not harder.
Dictionary and Thesaurus
Qtask has incorporated a dictionary and thesaurus along with spell check, which are always at your fingertips. Don't get stuck with a product that only checks spelling! Use the thesaurus to search for alternative words that will make your writing clear and concise. With a built-in dictionary available in English and Spanish, be sure you have the right words for your message!
On-screen notification
The Qtask on-screen notification makes it easy to stay abreast of new messages and calendar items. When you log into Qtask, the number of new discussion messages and calendar items since your last login displays in orange text, providing that much-needed visual cue that new messages require your attention.
Ease of Use
New optimized screen lengths and extended session timeouts are the two most recent enhancements making Qtask better. These enhancements make it simple to stay organized and remember where you left off. You no longer have to worry about your session timing out, after each moment away from the computer. The optimized screen lengths organize your dashboard in a user friendly fashion, making it easy to focus only on the data and information relevant to you.
Customer satisfaction is our number one priority. We constantly strive to create a faster and more efficient user experience. Be sure to visit on a regular basis to get detailed information on our latest product updates!

| | July 1, 2007 | Prolific Publishing, Inc., a software publisher and technology think-tank launched via spin-off Qtask, Inc., as a stand-alone company.
After several years of development and testing in the Prolific labs incubator, Qtask, a complete Enterprise and on-demand collaborative communications and project management solution, reached the level of innovation and product maturity needed to launch as an independent business, said the executives of the Qtask team.
Together with an aggressive pursuit of seminal patents in the data exchange and internet domains, Qtask begins with an experienced management team, a host of key clients and organizations in targeted strategic industries, including aerospace, real estate, security, and law.
The Qtask team, launching with several dozen employees, contractors, and contributors, procured substantial investment, accelerated the development process, and seeks talented new members to join the force developing this cutting edge and successful Software as a Service (SaaS) solution.
