A recent survey conducted by Google in New York streets showed that only 8% of the people knew what a browser really is. For me, often on the go, my favorite browsers (Firefox on my computer or Safari on my iPhone) are the magic gates through which I can get my job done, wherever I am, and from any computer/cellphone I might use. I am living 100% in Qtask from a professional standpoint and more and more in the Cloud for my personal stuff. My email is Gmail, my Favorites saved and synchronized online.
In July I will spend 3 weeks in France. The major changes will be the time difference (a severe 9 hours) and the European power plug requiring me to find an adapter. But my work environment will be exactly the same as when I am at the office... so why not enjoy family, French wines and cheese for some time?

This month, 233 years ago, our Founding Fathers proclaimed their freedom and independence with quills and parchment, then with blood and muskets. I still marvel at the courage and determination these men and their families exhibited, in the face of great sacrifice, to pursue what was important to them.

Today, We The People express our freedom in myriad ways; in fact, in almost every way we can. In the world of work, and of Qtask, this can mean telecommuting in Los Angeles, or
| |
moving to Des Moines to marry your love, or going on tour with a band for thirty days, or relocating to Nebraska to be nearer to your parents, without having to quit a job. Qtask, both the tool and the company, fully enable, and revel in, the possibilities of personal freedom today for our team.
Thanks to our virtual environment, we can be where ever we have to be or wherever we want to be, whenever we want. Using Qtask means not having to choose between your job and your desire or need to move, anywhere. Qtask gives parents the freedom to take care of their kids by being at home, present. And since we allow our team members to set their own rules for time and availability, we keep our attrition low and our productivity high.
When it comes to resources, Qtask allows us (and you too) to hire talent, anywhere in the world, as long as they've got an internet connection. In fact, thanks to who and what we are, and how we function, most obstacles to a fulfilling work life are simply removed – the only thing that matters is talent, and a work ethic. Since all data entered into Qtask is secure, you don’t have to worry about logging in from someone else’s computer, or an internet café, or even your web-enabled mobile phone.
Qtask, SaaS and cloud computing mean total removal of traditional work place shackles. With Qtask, you can be talented and productive, any where that's important to you. Total Freedom.
Are you ready?

Enterprise 2.0 Conference (June 23, 24, 25 Boston, Massachusetts) Russell Mix and Phil Barry attended this engaging and well-trafficked trade show, and demoed Qtask practically non-stop for the duration.
According to Russell, the SaaS-savvy crowd was comparable to that of Web 2.0. "Every one got what we are doing, quickly." The best thing said to us was, "Your product is the most comprehensive business tool at this show."

NAWBO Chicago's Power Your Dream Conference (June 23, 24 Chicago, Illinois) In a sea of women business owners, Gabriel Blanc-Laine stood out, especially with his accent! But he noticed them as much as they noticed him, "Let me first say that I really did enjoy this event, the people, the spirit, the content and the organization. This "women's" event was fundamentally different and better than most of the "traditional men's" events I've attended. More passion and more of the same concern among the participants: being a successful businesswomen in a man's world while being a successful, happy mum and wife. Quite a challenge... that I have never ever heard from any man...
"Being a successful businessman, dad and husband...", have you ever heard this? ;- )."

Chapter 3 (PDF) of Collaboration 2.0: Technology and Best Practices for Successful Collaboration in a Web 2.0 World written by collaboration experts David Coleman and Stewart Levine , examines the overall evolution of electronic collaboration starting with the social or genetic imperative for humans to be part of the "virtual herd". Following a peek at the evolution of both interaction and communication technologies, David and Stewart then take a 30,000-foot view of collaboration technologies and their impact from micro to macro, today and in the future.
As always, here is Chapter 16, which features Qtask as the prime, current example of a new collaborative tool that connects everything to everything else (remember our favorite word, hypercube?) and evolves collaboration 2.0 to 2.5.

Did you know that different browsers act differently? Especially for Qtask!
Qtask is best and fastest with Safari, closely followed by Google's Chrome browser which according to reports just might shift MSIE out of 1st place in the greater scheme of things (in Qtask, it's #4).
Firefox places 3rd, so all you peeps out there who think Firefox is the most stable, try using Qtask with Safari and see how you speed right along.
It's a game changer!

As head of the QSRT (Qtask Special Response Team) it is vital for me to be in top riding condition. A great way to keep this old motor oiled, is to ride often. I recently participated in a charity event to benefit the American Diabetes Association. Rip's B.A.D Ride (Bikers Against Diabetes) is a motorcycle fund-raising ride and family festival. This event unites the biker nation in the fight against diabetes with a full day of great riding, entertainment, food, lots of activities and an overall good vibe.
Qtask graciously contributed to the fund raising efforts of my girlfriend, Darlene and myself, as did many of the Qtask family. Their donations allowed us to enjoy VIP status during the event but, more importantly, their donations will help thousands of people struggling with diabetes.
The B.A.D Ride was started in Southern California by Rip Rose, a biker and photojournalist for Easyriders, who wanted to bring the biker nation together in the fight against diabetes. Today, that dream is a reality in not just one, but eight events held nationally. Each year, bikers gather in St. Louis, Missouri; Kansas City,

|
Kansas; Des Moines, Iowa; Wichita, Kansas; Houston, Texas; as well as Northern and Southern California and Arizona. Each ride has multiple start locations, where riders meet in the morning to begin an escorted ride to the final destination and festival.
My ride started at Powersports in Temple City/San Gabriel, and we traveled an estimated 80 miles to the festival, which was held at the beautifully rustic Oak Canyon Park, located in Irvine’s Santiago Canyon.
This isn’t the only ride I do; although I’ve been doing the B.A.D. ride each year since 2002, I am a member of many riding organizations including PGR - Patriot Guard Riders; BACA - Bikers Against Child Abuse; VROC - Vulcan Riders and Owners Club; and LAVROC - Los Angeles Vulcan Riders and Owners Club.
I’m a longtime motorcycle enthusiast, medically retired Police Officer having served 16 years with the Burbank Police Department in Burbank, California. A Veteran of the USAF, I served as a Firefighter / NCOIC of Training, and left the USAF with the rank of Master Sergeant. Now I am the MIS Specialist at Qtask, but nothing I do there means trading in my ride. In fact, my experience as a biker, and knowing a crash could be around the corner, only makes me do my job better. Thank you road, and thank you Qtask!

| Files Overview
This month's video of the month is "Files Overview" perfect for our Freedom theme. Why, you ask? Because you'll learn how Qtask keeps your files so organized, so secure, so available to whomever you designate, that you are free to go anywhere and do anything without having to worry about them. You can also *free* up space on your hard disk (not to mention your mind) since Qtask automatically versions every file, and saves all previous version for you. Happy trails!

|
 |
Not to beat a dead horse, but Qtask provides more paths to freedom than most collaboration & PM tools. How do you leverage them?
